Mix the flour and salt, pour 1 cup water and knead until combined
Gradually add remaining water if dough is too dry until very elastic
Let the dough rest 10 minutes and divide into 6-8 balls
Warm the unsalted butter and pour into a deep bowl
Immerse the dough balls in the warm butter and let rest 15-20 minutes
Preheat the oven to 550F
Stretch one dough ball as thin as possible on a clean countertop
Fold the stretched dough into a square, brushing between folds with the butter
Stretch the second ball thin, place the first seam-side down, fold the second over it brushing with butter
Repeat folding and brushing with the third and fourth balls to complete one layered feteer
Place the completed feteer seam-side down on a 10-inch baking dish and brush the top with butter
Repeat the stretching, folding, stacking, and brushing process with the remaining balls to make a second feteer
Lightly press each folded feteer to spread it on the baking dish
Bake in the preheated oven 10 minutes, then turn on the broiler to brown the top when it starts puffing
Add a little butter on top when done and cover to keep moist
